Nalco, Hindustan Copper Discuss Namibia Exploration (Update1)

Sept. 25 (Bloomberg) -- National Aluminium Co. is in talks with Hindustan Copper Ltd. to explore for the metal in Namibia, National Aluminium Finance Director B.L. Bagra said today in a telephone interview. Namibia agreed last month to give Indian companies access to explore for copper and diamonds in the African nation, India’s Mines Minister B.K. Handique said on Sept. 16. National Aluminium shares fell 2.2 percent to 335.55 rupees and traded at 339.45 rupees as of 10:18 a.m. on the Mumbai stock exchange. The shares have gained 79 percent this year, compared with a 73 percent gain in the key Sensitive Index. Hindustan Copper fell 0.7 percent to 223.35 rupees.
