National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) has received work permit (TWP) to resume mining operations at its Panchpatmali Bauxite Mines in Koraput district, Odisha. Following this, Nalco has taken up mining activities in full swing in the area since last evening.

Nalco's mining operations in the area had stopped since November 17 with the expiry of the company's mining lease. Though the company was not able to excavate bauxite from its captive Panchpatmali Mines due to want of forest clearance, the refinery and smelter were still operational during this period. During this period, both the units were running using buffer stock.
