The State government’s proposal of the bauxite sales was approved by the Cabinet last Saturday (March 3), allowing Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) to sell the whole quantity of bauxite for 2020-21 at a price of 1,000 rupees per ton through a national e-auction.

According to the decision, the bauxite buyers have to pay the differential tax rates regulated by the Orissa High Court in its order on November 8, 2010.
The process is a one-time measure, which will be limited only to the fiscal year 2020-21.
