Japan to cancel October aluminium shipment from Venalum

Japanese traders and aluminium rolling mills are to cancel a 15,000 mtshipment of primary aluminium ingot from Venezuelan producer Venalumfor the sixth time since freight negotiations began at the end of last year,an aluminium consumer source said Monday. Venalum is unable to restart shipments to Japan as both sides continue tonegotiate freight charges, the source said. Venalum has not exported aluminium to Japan since December 2007. Beforethat the Venezuelan producer regularly supplied about 90,000 mt of primary99.7% aluminium annually to Japan. --Mayumi Watanabe
