Brazilian aluminium producer CBA said it plans to invest 70m reais (US$36m) in a new extrusion unit, which will lift its extrusion capacity from the current 48,000tpy to 76,000tpy once operational in the middle of next year.
The investment is intended to increase the company’s share of the Brazilian aluminium profiles market, which is currently around 148,000tpy, according to company sales director Luis Carlos Loureiro Filho.
CBA is part of Brazil’s large industrial group Votorantim.
