CVG-Alcasa's Feb Aluminum Production up 1.7%

Venezuelan CVG-Alcasa's primary aluminum production totaled 14,114 tonnes in February,up 1.7% comparing with the output of 13,883 tonnes in February 2007, Alcasa said Monday. However, the plant’s February production was down 7.5%, on output of 15,263 tonnes in January. And the aluminum sales totaled 15,926 tonnes in February, down 0.98% on sales of 16,083 tonnes in February 2007. But the February sales were up 19% on sales of 13,382 tonnes in January. And 4,650 tonnes of Alcasa's February 2008 sales were export sales, and 11,276 tonnes were to the domestic markets. Alcasa has an nameplate capacity of 210,000 mt/year , part of the CVG's 640,000 mt/year primary aluminum complex in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state.
