Jamaican Bauxite Workers Go on Slow for Pay Rise

Workers at St. Ann bauxite mine in Jamaica are slowing down production against an unreached three-year payment agreement. “Workers are quite determined in improving current payment.” said CEO from the United Workers Union on behalf of over 400 employees in the company. The bauxite mine is half owned by the government, with Century Aluminium and Noranda Aluminium Inc. hold the remained 50% stake. COPYRIGHT All rights reserved.
