* Trouble in West African nation may impact longer term * Supply issues having little impact on aluminium prices LONDON, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Metals analysts said on Friday prices of aluminium could be boosted if the political troubles in Guinea escalated, but added for now the impact was minimal. Guinea tightened security in the capital Conakry on Friday, residents said, after junta leader Captain Moussa Dadis Camara was wounded in an attack by his own soldiers. The West African nation is the top exporter of aluminium ore bauxite. Bauxite is a raw material from which alumina, an intermediate product for aluminium refining, is produced. "Going forward the situation in Guinea will be having an impact. It will depend whether market sentiment will be looking at this," said Eugen Weinberg, a metals analyst at Commerzbank. "The market is not in deficit, so it's difficult to be caring about the supply side because there is no lack of supply." "It is a big mess at the moment ... they are already trying to re-negotiate contracts with RUSAL," added Weinberg. In September, a court in Guinea said the 2006 sale of the Friguia alumina refinery to UC RUSAL was unlawful, and the Guinean state was retaking ownership of its largest industrial operation. At 0951 GMT, aluminium traded at $2,130 a tonne from Thursday's close at $2,134. LME inventories in the metal, used in transport and packaging, are near record levels at about 4.6 million tonnes. Although analysts say up to 70 percent of that could be tied up in financing deals, aluminium demand has been hit by the global economic slowdown. "I don't initially see any impact," said William Adams, an analyst at Basemetals.com on Guinea. "There is a lot of aluminium around anyway." "Unless it goes completely down hill I'm sure the resources they have in the ground will be all-important to whoever is in power." (Reporting by Michael Taylor; editing by James Jukwey)
