Plans for a mining project in Vietnam have provoked one of the biggest protest movements the country has seen. In a joint project with China, the government will exploit one of the biggest reserves of aluminium ore in the world. The organisation behind the plan claims it will earn the country up to $200 m a year, but critics say the project could jeopardise the entire economic, environmental and social structure of the Central Highlands. Al Jazeera has this exclusive report from Central Vietnam.
