Aluminium futures prices traded 0.44 per cent lower at Rs 112.65 per kg on Wednesday, in tandem with a weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME). Stronger dollar reduced appeal for metals and other commodities.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, aluminium for delivery in February fell by 50 paise, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 112.65 per kg, with an open interest of two lots.
Aluminium for delivery in January shed five paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 111.95 per kg, with a business turnover of five lots.
Meanwhile, aluminium in London fell by 1.2 per cent to USD 2,454 per tonne.
Market analysts said weakness in aluminium futures prices was due to a weak trend in the entire base metals pack at the LME.
