Turkish investor to build aluminium factory

 Representatives of the Turkish company Boral aluminium, Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency and the municipality of Doljevac, south-eastern Serbia, signed on Thursday a memorandum on the construction of a factory for the manufacture of aluminium profiles and truck trailer doors, which will employ over 300 workers.

 
 
According to the agreement, the Turkish company will invest over EUR 50 million, whereas the state subsidize will total EUR 10 million, it was stated at the signing ceremony.
 
 
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Regional Development Verica Kalanovic stated that the construction of the new factory will start soon, stressing that both domestic and foreign investors are always welcome in Serbia.
 
 
President of the Doljevac municipality Goran Ljubic expressed hope that the Turkish company's investment will significantly reduce unemployment in that municipality, which is currently 33 percent, adding that the factory might open already in August 2012. 
 
 
The Boral aluminium owner Bunyamin Atik said that he will invest in a country that he is very familiar with, as he was born in former Yugoslavia, namely in Skopje, Macedonia, adding that he has been in the aluminium business for 35 years.
