Tom Dobbins, the president and CEO of the Aluminum Association, said the trade of non-alloy and unwrought aluminum will return to normal in the last four months of this year after the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) canceled the 232 tariffs on Canada’s imports of unwrought, or P1020, aluminum.

The imports will plummet from the surge in early 2020, which will be in line with the industry expected.
The Aluminum Association and its members all supported the North American tariffs and quota-free trade in accord with the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
