EU: Import Duties Lower For Russian Aluminum

The European Union's decision to trim import duties on Russia's aluminum from 6 percent to 3 percent took effect May 10. The reduction will allow an increase in metal deliveries from Russia, and Russian aluminum company United Rusal will be able to save more than $100 million a year and could redirect its export flows. The duty reduction benefits Rusal as Europe is one of its biggest markets.
