STOCKHOLM - Outotec has Wednesday agreed with ZAO Komi Aluminium on the design and delivery of two alumina calciners for the Sosnogorsk Alumina Refinery in the Republic of Komi, Russia. The contract value exceeds EUR 20 million.
Outotec's scope of delivery covers the engineering, supply of special equipment and services for a calcination plant with two circulating fluid bed calciners.
Each calciner has a capacity of 2,640 tonnes alumina per day. The total annual capacity of the new refinery will be 1.4 million tons of alumina.
The new calcination plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2008.
