Russia to build aluminium complex in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, October 12 -- Russia plans to begin building an aluminium production complex simultaneously in three regions Kyrgyzstan. Rosatom head Sergei Kiriyenko and Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev said about it upon the conclusion of a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation. Both of them are co-chairmen of the commission. According to Atambayev, this production complex is expected to consist of five enterprises. For his part, Kiriyenko said that at present, the Russian side is considering several projects of the construction of the aluminium production complex in Kyrgyzstan at once, working both on local and export raw materials. "In any case, each of these projects will closely coordinated with the development of power engineering in the republic," the Rosatom head said.
