RUSAL said that IPO will not coming soon

RBC, 12.12.2007—United Company RUSAL (UC RUSAL) has no immediate plans for an IPO, Viktor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian aluminium giant, told journalists today. The businessman earlier indicated that the flotation had been postponed indefinitely, citing an unfavorable market environment. In mid-May, Vekselberg announced UC RUSAL's plans to make an IPO, but did not give any details as to what share of the capital was to be issued, noting that it was simply important for RUSAL to go public and have a certain number of shares as free float. According to a merger agreement between RUSAL, SUAL, and Switzerland's Glencore, United Company RUSAL is to make an IPO within three years of the merger date.
