CONAKRY, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Russian metals firm RUSAL has raised alumina production at its Friguia plant in Guinea back to normal levels, following a production cut of more than 50 percent last month, a company source said on Monday. "From August 1, production has restarted normally and for this month we are aiming to reach 52,000 tonnes of alumina compared to the 20,000 tonnes in July," said the source. The decision to bring output back up to normal levels is in line with the original announcement made by RUSAL, the world's largest aluminium producer, which said in June the cut in Guinea output would be for one month only. RUSAL embarked on the move to cut metals output across its operations in an attempt to restructure its foreign loans, and in an environment of low demand and weaker prices.
