Russia Alfa demands bankruptcy of UC RUSAL units

MOSCOW, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Russia's Alfa-Bank said on Thursday it had asked courts to declare the bankruptcy of two units of aluminium producer United Company RUSAL, controlled by billionaire Oleg Deripaska. Alfa-Bank said in a statement the UC RUSAL units -- Siberian-Urals Aluminium Company (SUAL) and the Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Plant -- had failed to repay debts totalling over $70 million.
