UC RUSAL's procurement system recognized as the most transparent among metals companies

　　UC RUSAL (SEHK: 486, Euronext: RUSAL/RUAL, Moscow Exchange: RUALR/RUALRS), the world’s largest aluminium producer, announces that the Company has been ranked among the top five businesses with one of the most transparent procurement system according to the National Procurement Transparency Rating 2012, “business customers” category. RUSAL’s procurement system is ranked as the highest among metals companies.

　　Since 2009, RUSAL has been moved up in the rankings by 33 points due to the improvement of its procurement procedures and greater transparency of the Company’s operations in this field.

　　Over the past year, the Company has implemented a number of projects aimed at improving transparency and providing all potential suppliers with an access to current tenders on raw materials and services, including transport services. In particular, on its official website RUSAL launched a bilingual section “Suppliers” where all the information on the Company’s current competitive selections is available. Additionally, the Company started a cooperation with Russia’s leading electronic trading platform – Fabrikant – which specializes in the trade of standard materials. All RUSAL’s divisions use this electronic trade platform in their work. It is expected that this tool will further reduce the cost of purchased materials and work hours to seek the best deal.
