Global unwrought aluminium inventories at the end of September dropped by 14,000 mt from levels at the end of the previous month, and were 177,000 mt lower than year-earlier levels, according to figures released Thursday by the International Aluminium Institute.
Unwrought inventories slipped to 1.6 million mt in September from 1.614 million mt at end-August, and were down from 1.777 million mt at end-September 2005.
Meanwhile, total aluminium inventories fell 41,000 mt to 2.886 million mt at end-September from a revised 2.927 million mt at the end of August 2006,and were down 347,000 mt from 3.233 million mt at end-September 2005.
