Continuing to struggle with combination of high prices and inventories creeping higher, LME copper unlikely to hold above $5,000/ton support, says Commonwealth Bank of Australia; "most analysts still regard $4,500-$5,000/ton as a high price for copper so there's no real disincentive to produce more. Secondly, markets, after overshooting on the high side, often undershoot afterwards." Says copper prices currently consolidating losses of as much as 14% since start of year, but further fall likely. LME 3-month copper last at $5,750/ton, unchanged from Friday PM kerb.
