Global unwrought aluminium inventories at the end of May fell by 35,000 mt from levels at the end of the previous month, and were down 99,000 mt from year-earlier levels, according to figures released Tuesday by the International Aluminium Institute.
Unwrought inventories fell to 1.551 million mt in May from a revised 1.586 million mt at end-April, and were down from 1.65 million mt at end-May 2006.
Total aluminium inventories fell 40,000 mt to 2.89 million mt at end-May from a revised 2.93 million mt at the end of April 2007, and were down 175,000 mt from 3.095 million mt at end-May 2006.
