World aluminium stocks fall to historic lows in June – IAI

World aluminium inventories dipped for the second month in a row in June to their lowest level since its records began in 1973, the International Aluminium Institute said in its monthly report. June aluminium stocks were down 6.5 pct year-on-year at 2.799 mln tonnes against 2.889 mln tonnes in May, the IAI said. Reserves of the metal rose slightly in Europe, where the majority of aluminium stocks are located, and Latin America, but dipped by 80,000 tonnes in North America and edged lower in Asia, Africa and Oceania.
