Wednesday brought a sharp acceleration in "out" side action. Any "in" side action remains conspicuous by its absence—the last arrivals of alloy in the LME system were back on July 16, since when it's been all one-way traffic.

Yesterday brought draws of DIN226 ingot from Singapore (220t), Vlissingen (60t) and Rotterdam (20t). In addition, Trieste lost 60t of A380 ingot.

Equally significantly, what left was more than compensated for by the cancellation of 500t of DIN226—400t at Singapore and 100t at Vlissingen.

The daily downtrend resumed after Tuesday's one-day break with draws from Chicago (60t), Baltimore (40t) and Detroit (20t). Fresh cancellations totalled 340t—all at the east coast location—keeping the cancelled pipeline well primed for further "out" side action.
