Rio Tinto Rises As Metals Climb

Miners are on the rise as copper and other commodities climb, with Rio Tinto PLC (RTP) rising $6, or 3%, to $210.05, and peers BHP Billiton (BHP) and Vale (VALE) rising 1.2% and .9%, respectively. Copper futures for delivery in January were up 7.5 cents at$3.20 per lb. Bloomberg reports the March contracts rose the most in a month. Gold rose $15.80 to $1,138 per ounce.
