Chalco denies plans to acquire Alcoa

Beijing, Nov 14 – Aluminium Company of China, or Chalco said, the company is not planning to acquire Alcoa, but hopes to cooperate with Alcoa in various fields. The company said, "We hope to keep close cooperation with Alcoa. But we do not intend to acquire them." After Rio Tinto Bids for Alcan successfully, some reports said Chalco intended to involve in global merger waves, with Alcoa as his potential target. Chalco said, the company is trying to become a leading producer in the world in the next few years. And the company is looking to "oversea expand"
