Aluminum manufacturer Alcoa Incorporated plans to hire 101 new production employees at its Davenport plant. The company says the new employees will begin work in the rolling mill in December to meet projected business volumes in 2011.

In September the Davenport Alcoa plant recalled the last of more than 200 workers laid off during the economic downturn. It has also added about 40 to 45 additional jobs. The plant will produce aluminum alloy sheet and plate through 2014 for ships built by the U.S. unit of Australia shipbuilder Austal Limited.
