U.S annual rate of primary aluminum on February up 7.2% over February 2010

Based on aluminum Association surveys, the U.S annual rate of primary aluminum production totaled 1,819,290 metric ton during February 2011, an increase of 7.2 percent over the February 2010 total of 1,697,850 tonnes. Compared to the previous month, the annual rate of production rose 1.9 percent over the January 2011 annual rate of 1,784,850 tonnes.

The year-to-date annual rate of production through February 2011 totaled 1,801,195 tonnes, up 7.1 percent over the 2010 year-to-date rate of 1,682,304 tonnes.

Actual production for the month of February 2011 totaled 139,562 tonnes.
