Aluminium prices should not drop much, Alcoa (AA.N) chief executive Klaus Kleinfeld told a German Sunday paper, giving an upbeat outlook for business at the largest U.S. aluminium producer.

Asked by Welt am Sonntag about prospects for higher prices and good business conditions, the German executive said: "At least prices won't lurch lower, so I am optimistic about developments in the years ahead".

Alcoa last month posted first-quarter profit that beat estimates, but revenue missed forecasts.
