The severe weather pounding the East Coast has impacted the plans of Monterey, Calif.-headquartered Century Aluminum.
Stock trading was closed in the United States on Oct. 29 and 30 due to superstorm Sandy, which pummeled the East Coast and flooded most of New York City, including the financial area. Bond trading also was closed.
Century announced Oct. 29 it would reschedule its Oct. 30 third quarter 2012 earnings report to 5 p.m. Eastern time Nov. 1.
Century's earnings call will be broadcast on the company's website, and a news release will be issued upon its conclusion. A recording of the webcast will be archived and available about two hours after the call.
The last time the New York Stock Exchange was closed for weather was in 1985 because of Hurricane Gloria. This week marked the first time since 1888 that the exchange has been closed for two consecutive days because of weather.
