Iran’s four aluminum smelters have produced 112,767 metric tons (mt) of aluminum ingots in the first two months of the Iranian calendar year (starting on March 21, 2023).
The figure announced on Saturday by state metals company IMIDRO is a 2% decline from the same period in 2022 in which Iran produced 114,850 mt of aluminum.
South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO), Iran Aluminium Company IRALCO, Almahdi Aluminium Company, and Iran Alumina Company are the four major aluminum producers in Iran.
Production of alumina powder in Iran reached 40,282 mt in the two months to late May, down 5% from the same period last year, showed IMIDRO figures.
The data showed that bauxite production in the country reached 83,268 mt over the April-May period, up by only 279 mt compared to the same period in 2022.
