Alba Praises Bahrain Customers during Annual Dinner

 Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) commended its customer-base in Bahrain for their role in enabling Alba to emerge as a powerful force in the global aluminium industry. This statement was made during the Annual Dinner that was held for Alba's Bahrain based customers on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Capital Club, Manama.

The event provided the opportunity to celebrate the strong relationship between Alba and its customers, examine challenges and concerns for the coming year, and most importantly, consider the further development of the aluminium value chain in Bahrain.

Present at the event were the CEO of Alba 'Laurent Schmitt', Chief Marketing Officer 'Jean-Baptiste Lucas', Sales Manager for Middle East & North Africa 'Aziz Daylami' as well as other Alba officials along with CEOs, Managing Directors and high officials from the aluminium downstream companies in Bahrain.

Among the 35 people attending the event were also members of Alba's Middle East and North Africa sales team.

Commenting on the Annual Dinner for the company's Bahrain based customers, Alba's Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt said:

"2011 marks Alba's forty-years of successful operation, and a major part of this success is due to the trust, support and commitment we have received from our customers in Bahrain. Today, close to 50 per cent of our products are supplied to downstream companies in Bahrain who, in turn, export their finished aluminium products across the world. As a result, today, aluminium is Bahrain's second major export after oil and the aluminium sector remains a significant contributor to Bahrain's GDP. The success of both Alba and the downstream companies are tied together, and our success contributes substantially to Bahrain's position as an industrial force."

Representatives of downstream companies that attended Alba's Annual Dinner for Bahraini customers included Aluwheel, Bahrain Atomisers, Bahrain Aluminium Extrusion Company (Balexco), Bahrain Alloy Manufacturing Company (BAMCO), Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mills Company (Garmco), Midal Cables, and others.
