MAPCAN to Supply Molten Aluminum to Honda, Canada

Molten Aluminum Producer Canada (MAPCAN) announced yesterday that the official opening of its 50,000tpy aluminium recycling plant in Ontario. The plant will supply molten aluminium to the new Honda of Canada Engine Plant scheduled for open this autumn, which will derive nearly all of its aluminum demand from MAPCAN’s new plant. The new Honda Engine plant will enjoy an annual capacity of 200,000 engines. MAPCAN is a joint venture that is 65-precent-owned by Honda Trading group of companies and 35-percent-owned by Asahi Seiren Co. Ltd. of Osaka, Japan. The new MAPCAN plant will be the first Honda supplier in North America to deliver molten aluminum directly to die cast machines. It will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 1,600 tonnes annually. COPYRIGHT All rights reserved.
