Aluminum recycling part of Serbian green initiative

A $150 million aluminium recycling plant recycling plant is to be constructed in the city of Sremska Mitrovica in Serbia within an industrial park. This announcement has come from Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Economy, Mladjan Dinkic, and Jan Driessens, former president of Bell Packaging Europe. 'Industricum', the first page of the project, will be completed in January 2010 and will have the capacity to process 70,000 tons of aluminium per year. The plant will later be developed d and by 2014 will have the capacity to process 150 tons aluminum. This will reduce Serbia's electricity consumption by 1 million kilowatt hours per year.
