Chinese aluminum production up in Jan-Feb y-o-y

Wednesday, Mar 18, 2020

According to the report, China produced approximately 6 million tons of aluminum from January to February, which was up by 2.4% from the same period a year ago, although the corona virus outbreak hit demand. The Chinese government usually won't list the statistics about January and February separately due to the Chinese New Year.

The average daily production in January and February was about 97,500 tons, which was decreasing from the daily average of 98,000 tons in December. It was the third-highest daily production on the record.
During this period, China produced roughly 9.4 million tons of ten non-ferrous metals (included copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, and nickel), increasing by 2.2% year on year.
