National Aluminium Co. (Nalco) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the union ministry of mines for 2007- 2008, projecting more than 100% capacity utilisation in its aluminium smelter and alumina refinery, reports Business Line.
The compnay is also undertaking the second phase of expansion at a cost of Rs. 40.91 billion. The setting up of a caustic soda plant for backward intergaration in Orissa, development of Utkal -E coal block for forward integration, a joint venture for a green-field smelter and a market survey for any auto sector project are some of the future plans of the company, as per the MoU.
Shares of the company are trading higher by Rs 0.50, or 0.22%, at Rs 229.25. Total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 901.
