BHUBANESWAR, March 5: Mr BL Bagra joined as director (finance) of National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco). The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of Mr SC Chhatwal in April, 2006.
A chartered accountant, Mr Bagra, brings with him 30 years of rich experience in transport, mining, power and seeds sectors. Before joining Nalco, he was with Rites as director (finance), since December 2000.
Starting with Rajasthan State Electricity Board in 1977, Mr Bagra had worked in organisations like Rajasthan State Seeds Corporation Ltd, Manganese Ore (India) Ltd, Botswana Railways and Rites. He is credited with developing privatisation and concession division in Rites whereby successfully putting up joint ventures and bagging concessions of railway systems in Colombia, Mozambique and Tanzania.
