Indalex, one of the world's largest aluminum extrusion companies, recently announced it will expand its operations in Connersville, Ind., bringing 62 new jobs and more than $22 million in capital investment.
Company officials plan to begin construction later this spring of a new 100,000 square-foot addition to the company's facility to make room for a new 6,000-ton extrusion press that will produce components for transportation and distribution markets.
Indalex currently employs 61 people in Connersville and maintains facilities in Kokomo, Elkhart and 11 other cities across North America.
"This new investment at our Connersville facility is the latest in a series of investments in the State that exceeds forty-three million dollars in recent years," said Keith Burlingame, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Indalex Inc. "Indiana offers proximity to our key customers in the transportation and distribution markets. This latest investment at Connersville will provide our customers with more capacity and capabilities to meet their needs," Burlingame said.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered the company $75,000 in training grants and up to $820,000 in tax credits to encourage expansion. Fayette County officials also awarded the company property tax abatement worth $2.5 million over a year 10-year period.
The expansion of the company's facility is expected to be complete later this year with the new extrusion press full production in Spring 2008. The company plans to begin hiring new employees next year.
