Vedanta Aluminium Ltd seek Supreme Court to permit to explore bauxite

Vedanta Aluminum has started to run its Orissa alumina plant and they hope the Supreme Court can permit them to explore bauxite in Niyamagiri Mountain. This exploration is operating by Sterlite Industries Limited and Orissa Exploration Company. Some government organization said the exploration will damage the environment in this mountain. Vedanta Company denied this: “we will make land reclamation and compensation forestation after the exploration.” It also said that this mine mountain has no resident so there is not immigration problem and Ranchi Central Mine Planning and Design Institute has promised to solve water problem.
