Hindalco Industries Announce Q4 and FY08 Results

Hindalco Industries Ltd., the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, announced its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter ended 31 March and 08 fiscal year. Hindalco hit a net revenues of Rs. 5010 crore in Q4 versus Rs. 4749 crore in the year-earlier period, and net profit before tax for the quarter is Rs. 691 crore versus Rs. 958 crore in the year-earlier period. Aluminum and copper production set a record in the fiscal year, with aluminum business up 7% at Rs. 1856 crore and profit before interest and tax for the metal at Rs. 545 crore versus Rs. 790 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The company achieved a total revenue for the fiscal year at Rs. 19201 crore, up 5% from the previous year, with aluminum revenue was Rs. 7145 crore versus Rs. 7344 crore a year ago.
