National Aluminium Profit Rises on Higher Prices of Alumina

Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- National Aluminium Co., India's biggest alumina producer, said second-quarter profit climbed 1 percent on higher prices of the aluminum-making material. Net income rose to 4.44 billion rupees ($89 million) in the three months ended Sept. 30 from 4.39 billion rupees a year ago, the company, known as Nalco, said today in a Bombay Stock Exchange statement. Sales climbed 17 percent to 16.76 billion rupees.
