FIEO export award for NALCO

Kalinga Times reported that National Aluminium Company Limited has bagged the prestigious Niryat Shree award for excellence in export for the 2005-06. Instituted by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations, the award was received by Mr CR Pradhan CMD of NALCO from Mr Shankar Singh Vaghela union minister of Textiles in the presence of Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil President of India at a function held in New Delhi. During 2005-06, NALCO exported 8.62 tonne of alumina and 95,747 tonne of aluminum, earning a foreign exchange of INR 2306.20 crore against INR 2200.25 crore in 2007. It may be mentioned that NALCO has further improved its export performance during 2006-07. During the period, the company earned record foreign exchange of INR 2585 crore. As per report, NALCO has been able to boost its exports considerably after 1st phase alumina and metal capacity expansion. It is now all set to complete its 2nd phase expansion at an investment of INR 5100 crore which will further boost its export business. (Sourced from Kalinga Times)
