India Apr-Dec Aluminum Output 985,190 Tons Vs 923,098 Tons

MUMBAI, Jan 20, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- India's state-run and private companies produced 985,190 metric tons of aluminum in the April-December period, up from 923,098 tons a year earlier, data from the ministry of mines showed Tuesday. The country produced 461,209 tons of copper during the period, down from 515,308 tons a year earlier; 422,553 tons of zinc, up from 313,801 tons; 44,632 tons of lead, up from 41,258 tons; and 5.57 tons of gold, down from 9.36 tons, the data showed.
