India April-Feb Aluminum Output At 1.22 Mln Tons

NEW DELHI, Mar 18, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- India's state-run and private companies produced 1.22 million metric tons of aluminum in the April-February period, up from 1.13 tons a year earlier, data from the country's ministry of mines showed Wednesday. The country also produced 575,653 tons of copper during the period, down from 642,915 tons a year earlier; 526,742 tons of zinc, up from 397,800 tons; 54,845 tons of lead, up from 52,275 tons; and 6.3 tons of gold, down from 10.9 tons, the data showed. -By Arpan Mukherjee, Dow Jones Newswires; 91 11 4356 3310; arpan.mukherjee@dowjones.com
