NEW DELHI, May 06, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- India's state-run National Aluminium Co. (52334.BY) won't issue a monthly alumina sale tender in May due to a rise in internal consumption for the production of more aluminum, a senior company executive said Wednesday. The executive, who declined to be named, told Dow Jones Newswires Nalco's alumina sales will be less in the first half of the financial year that began April 1, compared with last year. "But we will make good in the second half. Overall exports during the year will be higher," the executive said. In the fiscal ended March 31, 2009 Nalco sold around 860,000 tons of alumina, almost half of which was sold in the first half. -By Biman Mukherji, Dow Jones Newswires; 91-11-43563335; biman.mukherji@dowjones.com
