Aluminium futures prices fell by Re 0.20 to Rs 101 per kg on Tuesday as traders reduced their positions, driven by weak trend in the spot markets owing to subdued demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, aluminium for delivery in March traded down by Re 0.20 or 0.2 per cent at Rs 101 per kg in a turnover of 70 lots. April contract also edged lower by Re 0.15 or 0.15 per cent to Rs 102.10 per kg in a turnover of 3 3 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in futures prices to weak trend in the spot market on reduced demand from consuming industries and squaring-up of positions ahead of the expiry of March series on Wednesday.
