Base metals in India rise on global cues

PTI reported that base metal prices rose up to INR 5 per kilogram on the local nonferrous metal market today on increased industrial demand amid firming trend at the London Metal Exchange.


Traders said that increased industrial demand along with firming trend at the LME mainly led to the rise in base metal prices. Meanwhile, copper for three month delivery gained 0.3% to USD 9,444.50 and nickel by 1.4% to USD 26,170 per tonne at the LME.


In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were up by INR 2 each to INR 510, INR 533 and INR 494 per kilogram respectively. Nickel followed suit and traded higher by INR 5 to INR 1072 to INR 1074 per kilogram. Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported also went higher by INR 1 each to INR 132.50, INR 140 and INR 142 per kilogram respectively.

Tin ingot 857, zinc ingot 132.50, nickel plate (4x4) 1,072 to 1,074, gun metal scrap 226 bell metal scrap 228, copper wire scrap 510, copper wire bar 533, copper mixed scrap 494, Utensil scrap 224, Chadripital 175. Lead ingot 140, lead imported 142, aluminum ingots 102, sheet cutting 105, aluminum wire scrap 102 and aluminum utensils scrap 102.
