The alumina refinery of Vedanta Aluminium Ltd (VAL) here has been conferred with the prestigious International Safety Award by one of the world's leading health and safety organisations, the British Safety Council, London.
Vedanta won the award by securing the highest marks in the category.
With zero Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR), the company boasts of having 19.8 million accident-free man-hours till March 2012.
According to VA-Lanjigarh President & COO Dr Mukesh Kumar, ‘we have continuously working towards our goal of zero harm at the plant site.
