India now has 7 electrolytic aluminum enterprises currently, with a total production capacity of 4.053 million tons of primary aluminum.

It was reported that India mills had sufficient stock of raw materials and consumables to use for at least 15 days, and the most supply of key raw materials, including bauxite, wasn’t interrupted since the Indian government didn’t suspend trains transport.
However, the shortage in the workforce might become an obstacle to result in the interruption of mills’ operations. Besides, road transport and the port business have also been seriously impacted by the epidemic, and the export of primary aluminum was affected accordingly. Despite these, it was believed that it won’t have any direct or short-term impact on production.
