India April-May Aluminum Output 202,145 Tons

India produced 202,145 metric tons of aluminum in the first two months of the financial year that started in April, up 8.5% from a year earlier, latest government data showed. The country's state-run and private companies cumulatively produced 109,772 tons of copper in April-May 2007, up 33% on year, the data said. India's financial year runs from April to March. Zinc production was at 67,641 tons in April-May, up from 58,851 tons produced last year. Lead production was at 9,842 tons, up from 6,981 tons produced during April-May 2006. India's gold production in the first two months of 2007-08 was at 1.49 tons, down from 2.26 tons produced during the same period last year, the data said.
